what's the point?
this will take 1 minute to read
Good morning!
I like keeping it casual with you guys, that’s why my subject lines for these emails feel like a text you’d get on your phone.
DEFINITION
what’s a stock?
A stock is a small piece of ownership in a company. When you buy a stock, you now own a tiny part of that company, and you can make money if the company does well and its value goes up. But if the company doesn’t do well, you could also lose money. womp womp.
PRACTICAL ADVICE
don’t do individual stocks
Do you want to be depressed one morning, and then super excited the next, and then depressed the day after? That’s what I’ve seen from people who invest in individual stocks.
Invest in something that’s already diverse instead, like an index fund. Look up “FXAIX” on google and you’ll know what I’m talking about.
HELPFUL RESOURCES
what’s the point
