"ticker"
that's a finance term?
Let’s talk investing yall!
DEFINITION
What is a “ticker”?
A ticker symbol is like a nickname for a company on the stock market. It's a short combination of letters (and sometimes numbers) that helps people quickly identify a company and its stock. For example, Apple’s ticker symbol is "AAPL" and Microsoft’s is "MSFT". When people want to buy or sell shares of these companies, they use these ticker symbols to make sure they're trading the right stock. It's like using someone's initials instead of their full name to save time and avoid confusion.
