What's an asset?
So Ashlea and I have officially relocated! I’m current studying for my Series 65 license, aka my license to give out investing advice. But before I just into complicated investing terminology, let’s discuss one of the fundamental terms used in the world of finance.
DEFINITION
What’s an asset?
Your assets are the stuff you own that have monetary value—everything from your 401(k) account and money in savings to the car sitting in your driveway.
PRACTICAL ADVICE
Own assets that grow in value
There are different kinds of assets too.
A car is an asset, but over time it will only lose value and become worth less.
A house is an asset, and in a lot of cases it will gain value and become worth more over time.
